Modern Talkings: Modern start for a fabulous era
Brother Louie... Louie... Louie... Brother Louie...
Oops! I am here to write something! not sing! :P
But very few tough guys exist, those who have heard these songs but don't play those tones on their mind.
Those excellent are Modern Talking's creations.
English Pop music pick on the top in the early '80s.
Some fresh blood enters that domain, and something began to change.
Dieter Bohlen, Thomas Anders. The charming german guys became one of the famous duos for English pop lovers! They made some biggest hits and tried their trademark blends. Some of those are: "You're My Heart, You're My Soul," "You Can Win If You Want," "Cheri Cheri Lady," "Brother Louie," "Atlantis Is Calling (S.O.S. for Love)," and "Geronimo's Cadillac." Yes! We are talking about Modern Talking.
Beginning Story:
Dieter Bohlen was bored of composing German songs for several years. He wanted to do something different. Here he found Thomas Anders. An excellent English Singer. Bohlen contacted him and proposed to produce some songs together. They published "You're My Heart, You're My Soul" in 1983. The response was tremendous.
They became viral among that generation.
“You’re My Heart. You’re My Soul” alone reached No.1 in 81 countries. Modern Talking and Thomas Anders’ solo works have now topped the 125 million mark.
They made "Brother Louie," "Cheri Cheri lady," which became that generation's favorite karaoke song for dance.
They released their first album, "The 1st Album". None of those works became flops ever in that era.
Veil down of an amazing journey while working on the sixth album due to their internal issues. They didn't even talk to each other for ten years.
During that era, Modern Talking's concert was successful in Europe, Asia, South America, Asia, the United Kingdom, and even in the Soviet Union. At that time, there was a cold war between the USA and the Soviet Union, but art didn't care about those things, Modern Talking released two albums at that time, and those became famous.
They separately made their own solo career in the '90s.
Bohlen made his new German band 'Blue System'. And Anders continued with some English Solo Songs.
In 1998, They reunited and performed several times. But maybe the rhythm is broken already!
Why I like them:
Their immense Confidence! They used mostly 2-3 instruments, bled it awesome! Their main strength was their lyrics, easy, catchy, and romantic. Perfect song for new lovers ;)
They are so impressive in front of the camera. So few bands have that type of classy music video in that era. Especially Anders's Eye contact! That was something on the above. If he had been of this generation, this old man would probably have become the crushed man of social media girls ;)
Modern Talking, we love you!
Stay home! Stay Safe!
I will come back!
